Taking out insurance
Remember that if you replace your car with another car or get an additional car, you will have to get a fresh quotation for the new/additional car, even if the car is to be insured on the same conditions as the previous/current car.

What is the difference between liability cover and casualty and collision cover?
Liability insurance is compulsory and covers your liability for damages to other people or other people's property (for example, cars). Casualty and collision ("casco") insurance covers damage to your car, for example from collision, vandalism, glass damage, fire, theft, etc.
Does it cost extra if my car has a tow bar?
We would like to be informed if your car is fitted with a tow bar - but it does not cost extra.
What is extended glass cover?
If you choose this optional cover, glass damage will not overload your insurance. You also have the choice of whether you want to have the defective glass repaired or replaced. If you choose to have it repaired, you will pay no excess. If instead you choose to get the glass replaced, you have to pay 1/3 of the cost of the damage.
What is replacement vehicle insurance ("bilsavn")?
Replacement vehicle insurance provides compensation if you have to do without your car as a result of the theft of your car or a total write-off of your car.
What is driver's insurance?
Driver's insurance covers the car's driver if in the event of a driving accident the driver does not receive compensation from the person responsible for the damage, the other party's liability insurance, a working accident insurance, or similar schemes.

Tryg Roadside Assistance
Provides assistance in the form of on-site help, towing of the car and onward transport of the driver and passengers in case of breakdown or accident in Denmark where the car cannot continue under its own power, as well as when the driver feels unwell, or experiences illness or injury while driving. Tryg Roadside Assistance also has a favourable replacement car scheme.
Extended Tryg Roadside Assistance
Provides assistance in the form of on-site help, towing of the car, and onward transport of the driver and passengers, possibly in the form of a taxi service, in case of breakdown or accident in Denmark where the car cannot continue under its own power, as well as when the driver feels unwell, or experiences illness or injury while driving. Extended Tryg Roadside Assistance includes hotel accommodation in case of breakdown or accident where the car cannot continue under its own power. Assistance is provided in Europe (red-card area), but only transport of the car to the nearest workshop and not towing free when it is stuck. You can choose an annual safety check of the car in a Tryg Roadside Assistance workshop, where a visual inspection of the brakes, tyres and treads, shock absorbers, steering, windshield, other glass and windscreen wipers will be carried out. Here you can also get help to change bulbs in lights, as well as filling of sprinkler fluid, antifreeze and oil. When the car needs to have a changeover from winter to summer tyres, this can also be done at the Tryg Roadside Assistance workshop. Extended Tryg Roadside Assistance comes with a favourable replacement car scheme.
New motorists
As a new driver it can be very expensive to have your own car as the insurance is so expensive. But at IDA Insurance you can earn seniority from the day you join IDA. For example, if you have been a member of IDA for 3 years, this is equivalent to 3 years of no-claims driving.
